David L. Arbit, MD is a member of Summit Medical Group’s Rheumatology team. Dr. Arbit has been practicing Rheumatology and Internal Medicine since 1993, and is the chief of Rheumatology at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood NJ. His special areas of interest are Osteoporosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. He has brought diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound to New Jersey Associates in Medicine. This cutting-edge technology enhances the diagnosis of many rheumatologic illnesses and improves the accuracy and safety of joint and tendon injections. Many procedures which previously were limited to radiology or surgical centers, can now be safely done in the office with much less risk and cost as well as greater comfort for the patient. Dr. Arbit is Board certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Arbit graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Psychology, having received part of his undergraduate education from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem as well. He earned his doctorate in Medicine from New Jersey Medical School where he was awarded a Medical Alumni Scholarship. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in NY, followed by his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
