James J. Kuchera, MD, specializes in normal and high-risk pregnancy and abnormal pap smears, with expertise in colposcopy, cryotherapy, and LEEP procedures as well as menopause and hormone replacement therapy.
In addition to his position with Summit Medical Group, Dr. Kuchera is an attending physician at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey. He is the Morristown Medical Center Medical Staff Representative to the American Medical Association National Organized Medical Staff Subsection. Dr. Kuchera is Former Vice Chair of the Morristown Medical Center Hospital Utilization Committee. He has been a member of the Morristown Medical Center Perinatal Committee, Long-range Planning Committee, Physician-Hospital Liaison Committee, Managed Care Committee, Critical Pathways C-section Committee, Ambulatory Surgery Center Medical Advisory Committee, and Atlantic Health System Women's Health Initiative Committee.
Dr. Kuchera is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Medical Association Hospital Medical Staff Subsection, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sloane Hospital for Women Alumni Society, and Alpha Sigma Neu National Jesuit Honor Society.
In addition to his experience caring for his younger siblings, Dr. Kuchera's interest in biology and chemistry were his inspiration to study medicine. He says, "Obstetrics and gynecology has given me the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with each of my patients. In addition, it has allowed me to help couples during the very special time of pregnancy and childbirth. Caring for my patients from their teen years through menopause is deeply meaningful and gratifying for me."
